We are looking to take the next step in the development of our HVAC Apprenticeship Program at F.H. Furr. For us, this means bringing in a talented individual to work with our Head Trainer in the HVAC Apprentice Training Program. The HVAC Technical Coach will be responsible for leading training sessions and teaching new hires along with continued development of existing HVAC Service Apprentices & Technicians. Duties:
- Lead specific classroom and practical training opportunities for HVAC Apprentices & Technicians
- Assist with monthly ongoing technical training for all HVAC Service Technicians
- Perform in-field ride-a-longs with service technicians, focused on skills development and ongoing training in the field in all market areas
- Provide phone and video-chat support to technicians in the field
- Work closely with HVAC Training team to define goals and measurables for apprentices entering the team.
- Develop individual coaching plans, provide resources and assistance, in addition to scheduling learning sessions with senior representatives
- Determine training needs by observing inter-departmental and customer interactions, studying results reports, and conferring with leadership
- Improve training effectiveness by developing new approaches and techniques, making support readily available and integrating support into routine job functions
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations
Requirements:
- 10+ Years in the residential HVAC Service industry
- Position requires travel up to 50% of the time depending on the needs of the business
- Excellent presentation skills
- Ability to work in a team or individually to complete complex tasks
- Must have advanced knowledge of general office procedures and demonstrate excellent organizational and computer skills specifically in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and e-mail
- Effective and collaborative team player, motivated by a fast-paced high-performance environment
- Demonstrate ability to maintain cooperative, diplomatic working relationships with co-workers & supervisors; work as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues & maintain a positive work ethic; complete projects under tight deadlines even when there are competing requirements and changes in assignments
- Display the ability to prioritize and plan work activities; uses time efficiently; plan for additional resources; set goals and objectives; develop realistic action plans
