HVAC Install QA Tech
Position Summary
The HVAC Install QA Tech is responsible for verifying the quality, completeness, and compliance of HVAC system installations as jobs are nearing completion or immediately following install. This role focuses on post‑installation inspections to ensure all work meets company standards, manufacturer specifications, applicable codes, and customer expectations prior to final close‑out. The HVAC Install QA Tech does not perform installations, but serves as a quality checkpoint and liaison between installation teams and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct post‑installation and close‑out inspections of residential and/or commercial HVAC installs.
- Review completed or near‑completed installations for quality, workmanship, and adherence to scope.
- Verify HVAC systems are installed according to:
- Company quality standards
- Manufacturer specifications
- Local and state codes
- Approved job and design requirements
- Perform visual inspections and basic operational checks to confirm system readiness.
- Identify deficiencies, incomplete work, or quality issues requiring correction.
- Document findings accurately using inspection checklists, photos, and reports.
- Communicate inspection results clearly and professionally with install teams, supervisors, and operations leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of HVAC experience (installation, service, QA, inspection, or supervision).
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, components, and installation best practices.
- Ability to evaluate workmanship and identify improper or incomplete installations.
- Working knowledge of HVAC codes and manufacturer guidelines.
